According to an Insider.com article, "Reed recommends eating chewy or gummy candy right before you hit the gym, and saving treats with chocolate, peanut butter, and nuts for a post-workout treat to boost muscle recovery."
What does this have to do with the Word? Well, admittedly, it's a stretch, but keep an open mind and hear (read) me out: a workout by itself is great, but fueling our body before and after a workout is highly beneficial for us physically. Similarly, reading, knowing, and reciting a Scripture verse by itself is great but reading the verses before and after (and understanding the context) is extremely beneficial for us spiritually. Let's explore some common verses that are often quoted solo but can be better understood with the surrounding text.
